HUNGRY CHILDREN HAVE DIFFICULTY ALL DAY WITH LEARNING, SOCIAL INTERACTIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS.
IT’S ANOTHER BURDEN ON A CHILD ALREADY STRUGGLING.
3 students arrive hungry in every class
Hungry students are more likely to:
- find it difficult to concentrate (73%)
- be lethargic (66%)
- have learning difficulties (54%)
- exhibit behavioural problems (52%)
The average student loses more than two hours per day of learning time when they arrive at school hungry. If they attend school hungry once a week, this equates to a loss of a whole term (14 weeks) over the course of a school year. That’s a quarter of the school year.
We provide the resources needed, directly to the local schools and breakfast clubs, so they can ensure the children in their programs get to class with a nutritious breakfast.
To put this into perspective, the forecasted social return created for every $4 coffee exchanged for a 1kg box of cereal for children, is $110!
We believe every Aussie kid should be given every chance to be their best, and it all starts with a nutritious breakfast.
We supply breakfast clubs in schools all over Brisbane to stop kids going to school hungry.
And we’re well on our way, feeding on average 1,600 kids each week. The proceeds go to supporting kids getting a nutritious breakfast before they start their school day.
Join us on our mission.
This year, we’re supporting school kids and our local cafés.
How? Drop off a box cereal + buy a coffee at your local café.
When school breakfast clubs go back, we’ll be ready with brekky for hungry kids.
All proceeds from donations will go to the local schools and breakfast clubs. And, if you donate the cash equivalent of a box of cereal, we’ll shop for you.
Feed school kids and support local business.
